Pet retailer launches Fit Pet Challenge to raise money for animal shelters

Petmania says GO FUR IT with #FitPetChallenge

Petmania kicked off its Fit Pet Challenge this week. The Irish owned pet store has set a challenge for pet owners in Ireland to exercise their pets every day for two weeks. The #FitPetChallenge is part of Petmania’s annual health and lifestyle programme Operation TransPAWmation.

Petmania is challenging pet parents to go fur it; walk, play, run, swim, climb, whatever it takes to get pets active and fit. Tag three friends on social media and donate to one of Petmania’s charity partners, -ASH Animal Rescue, Wicklow, DEEL Animal Action Group, Limerick, DEISE Animal Sanctuary, Waterford, Laois SPCA, Galway Cat Rescue, SERA Husky & Animal Rescue and Kingdom Cat & Dog Rescue in Kerry, Protecting Pound Dogs, Kilkenny and Roscommon SPCA.

Emily Miller of Petmania commented,

We hope everyone in Ireland will get behind our #fitpetchallenge and exercise their dog or cat every day for two week. Not only will this challenge benefit your pet but the funds raised will support abandoned animals waiting for their forever home across Ireland. It will be great fun on our community channels so share your active pet pics there and inspire others to join in. Don’t forget to nominate your friends!”
