Pembroke Hotel play host to ‘Bangers & Mash’ Fundraiser for Kilkenny/Carlow Samaritans
Kilkenny’s Pembroke Hotel are hosting a fundraising ‘Bangers & Mash’ event to raise funds for Samaritans Kilkenny. A now annual event, the lunch will take place on Thursday, November 6th.
Diners will enjoy Superquinn’s famous range of sausages, kindly donated by SuperValu Market Cross and coeliacs will also be catered for as Lavistown Gourmet Sausages will be providing a delicious selection of gluten free sausages. All ‘bangers’ will be served with Head Chef Grainne Somer’s signature onion gravy and creamy mash made from local potatoes donated by Deegan’s Fruit and Veg.
“This was a great event last year and very successful in raising funds for Samaritans Kilkenny. People love to treat themselves to good hearty meal of bangers and mash, particularly in this cold weather. We would like to thank all the suppliers who have kindly donated to the lunch and look forward to keeping this as an annual event at the Pembroke Hotel to raise vital funds for Samaritans Kilkenny” says Paul Broderick, General Manager of the Pembroke Hotel.
The Samaritans provide 24 hour emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of emotional distress or despair including those which may lead to suicide. The organisation is volunteer led with over 70 people across Kilkenny and Carlow who act as points of contact for those seeking support. They work in partnership with other organisations, agencies and experts to influence and raise awareness of the challenges of reducing suicide.
‘Bangers & Mash’ will be held at the Pembroke Hotel, November 6th from 12.30 to 2.30. All diners are asked to donate just €10 which will go directly to help Samaritans Kilkenny and Carlow. Samaritans Kilkenny is based at 2 Abbeybridge, Dean Street, Kilkenny.
