St Kieran’s, which already has a long history of success in hurling is hoping to create an establishment where potential hurlers from across the county and country will come to further explore their interest in the game.
At the launch today, Brian Cody, Kilkenny Hurling Manager, said, “I’m always eager to be involved in any project that is helping to advance and progress hurling, both at a local and a national level. I’m also really looking forward to the event in January, it’s not often that the sports and business communities meet, and I think a lot could be learned from both parties and I’m looking forward to hearing the many different perspectives on what drives success.”
Siobhán Talbot, Group Managing Director, Glanbia, who is also scheduled to speak at the event commented, “There are many useful analogies which can be drawn between the world of sport and the boardroom, particularly in relation to the principles of performance, leadership and collaboration. As a global nutrition group focused on developing and producing products and nutritional solutions to complement healthy, active lifestyles, we are pleased to support this event and look forward to sharing our perspectives on the day.”
Commenting, Rev Dr. Dermot Ryan, President at St Kieran’s College said, “We are delighted with the speakers confirmed for our event in January and we have been humbled by their enthusiasm for the project. Given the calibre and experience of the people in the room, the event is set to be fascinating for anyone working within corporate Ireland. All at St Kieran’s College and in Kilkenny GAA are always striving for excellence, and this event, which we hope will become an annual fixture, will go a long way to helping us explore how this can be achieved.”
