John has a Ph. D in Psychology from Trinity College, Dublin and lectured in UCG and TCD before moving to RTE as a television producer. While at RTE, he produced programmes across the schedule from Today Tonight to the Late Late Show and worked with leading presenters and artists including Gay Byrne, Brendan O’Carroll, Ryan Tubridy, Ray D’Arcy, Shauna Lowry, Olivia O’Leary, Dave Fanning, Noirin Ni Riain, Brian Farrell, Mary Kennedy, Marty Whelan, Eleanor Shanley, Ronnie Drew and Neven Maguire. John is a columnist and travel writer with the Sunday Independent and an independent TV producer. He has published two books  “Facing Up To AIDS,” with John Mordaunt (O’Brien Press, 1989, and “Working It Out,” Mercier Press, 2004.

John is Agent for Neven Maguire and Mary Kennedy.

In his first role on the big screen John plays the part of Mack in “Mrs Brown, D’Movie”  released in June 2014  and in The Mrs. Brown’s Boys New Year’s Day Special 2022 John appeared as Uncle Mickey.
