Programme launches to reduce emissions for 1,000 Irish HGVs

‘The Greener HGV Programme’ saves up to €17,000 in five years

3 Counties Energy Agency has partnered with Corcra Ltd to launch The Greener HGV Programme. Having secured €1.4M funding under the Governments Climate Action Fund, The Greener HGV Programme will see 1,000 fleet vehicles across Ireland fitted with innovative technology which will enable drivers to reduce carbon emissions and save fleet companies approximately 10 per cent of their annual fuel costs. The Climate Action Fund is a Project Ireland 2040 investment fund. Irish Cloud Company Certified as Carbon Neutral

 

Stryve, a Carlow based private cloud and cybersecurity company, are climate action leaders in the Irish Tech sector having been certified as Carbon Neutral.

Working with experienced energy auditors, German-based ‘Climate Partners’ Stryve completed a detailed assessment of its emissions and developed a roadmap to reduce its carbon footprint. As a first step, the company has invested in four global sustainable projects to offset its carbon.  Read more

Saturday, July 24th (24/7) marks the annual awareness day for Dublin Samaritans.

The date is chosen to remind people that the free phoneline, 116 123, is available 24/7, 365 days a year to those in distress, at risk of suicide or in need of an empathetic listening ear. However big or small a problem may seem, Dublin Samaritans is encouraging people who are struggling to cope, to call the freephone number any time and speak to one of its trained volunteers. You do not have to be suicidal to call.
